The Addictive Game

MONOPOLY

Living with the three boys and my uncle Bob. ^^

went there to stay at first for only one night but ended up staying for three nights. How? because of ice-skating of course! but we're not here to talk about ice-skating today. Ice-skating is FAR less important than..THE ADDICTIVE GAME- MONOPOLY.

it was saturday night. somewhere around 10 or 11. shaun, shane, shannon, my sis (li ee), hsin hui (other couz) and I gather around the *thunder* MONOPOLY board. the game pieces are put up and the 'money' are distributed.

"ROLL THE DICE SHANE! ROLL THE DICE!" says one from the 6.

the one with the highest number on the dice gets to pick his/her piece first. meaning, picking either the steamship, car, hat and so on. Soon, the game begins. Hsin Hui came in late and therefore wasn't allowed to cut in and play. Li May, who wasn't interested at the start became the banker, passing out pass Go money $200 and collecting money when they wanna buy anything.

Non (shannon) was on the lead. Making everyone bankrupt with his all famous. PARK LANE AND MAYFAIR. those cursed places. land there and say BYE BYE to$2000. soon, Li Ee had no more money. she was down to zero. she had to sell off her properties. ONE BY ONE. the agonizing pain! watching her utilities and stations go...she was practically crying! no..i'm just saying that. she wasn't crying...hahaa...all having fun. Shaun was hot on non's trail. he was picking up the pace, gaining money. slowly, SLOWLY. shane was also, meanwhile, bankrupting. only that he was lucky and never even ONCE landed at mayfair or parklane or vine street ($1000) or any of the green places which are bond strret, regent street and oxford street which all costs a BOMB. he kept landing on income tax and chance or community chest which are but what the boys would call MIMs.

Luck wasn't going to save shane that day though. he bankrupted later on. Li May, me (okay fine, just let me refer to myself as the third person k? i'm sick of saying I), was whining for the potato chips they had bought earlier that day. CRAVING for cottage fries which now lay untouchbly on the kitchen table.

"CHIPS! I WAAAAAANT MY CHIIIIIIIIPS!" was to be heard.

soon after, the only people left on the game was non and shaun. shane got into the craze of potato chips along with Li May and Li Ee was helping shaun. Li May and shane went downstairs to take some chips because the longing for it was too strong. the force was pulling them. they reached the kitchen and took about four packets. Midnight feast they thought. just when they were going out, Li May caught a glimpse of the clock on the wall. 2. it was 2 AM. she nudged shane and they bboth FROZE together and then broke into laughter. GOD it was late. it was VERY late.

we went upstairs and told the others who all gasped and said.

"WHAT?! 2 already MEH?!"

but yes. there was no mistake. it WAS 2. oh yea, we did take up 2 packets of potato chips after deciding, two packets for 2 o clock. Li Ee didn't eat any as she had her retainers on. shaun and hsin hui just didn't fancy any. Shannon soon became uninterested with the game as the potato chips had arrived. who could blame him? potato chips ARE irresistable after all. well, apparently not to ALL people. shane only ate a few and decided he didn't want any anymore. Li May however, was on fire with it. munching down potato chips as if they were the first ever in her life.

"NON AR! CONCENTRATE! ROLL THE DICE!"

shouts hsin hui. she had already taken over shannons game all he had to do waws to roll the dice. shaun was lying on the floor, barely able to move anymore. BOY WAS HE TIRED. soon, shanon passed the dice to hsin hui. he couldn't stand it anymore. he wanted to concentrate on CHIPS and CHIPS alone. the game went on. shaun leading at first and then losing slowly. Shane then took over hsin hui and played for shannon while liee took over shauns game and played for him. the duo went on while hsin hui told li may and shaun some stories. SAD SAD DRAMATIC stories.

at 3 o' clock, shannon was FINALLY declared the winner. and li may couldn't believe they all stayed up until 3 to roll the stupid dice. GOD were they thick or what?! dun answer that.

the next morning, MONOPOLY was on shannons mind again. he took out the set.

"WANT TO PLAY?!"

everyone smiled and took their places. i shrugged, why not?
