So i've read the book,
and i loved it
and i loved it
I remember all of us girls going craaaazzy over it. Bren and I talking about how Ryan Phillipe should play the role of Edward Cullen cause hes so HAWT! I remember the whole arrangement of 'i have edward cullen for a week and you can have him during the weekends, where i get Jacob then.' lol xp
Yeah okay, so i REALLY loved the book/character
(im only referring to twilight, not new moon and eclipse here)

And you know how when you read a book, you envision the characters the way you think they should be like? And when its made into a movie, the actors either meet your standards or really just don't quite cut it. For example, Voldermort.
Remember the first time we all saw him on the big screen?
Remember how we all laughed?
Remember how ridiculous we thought he looked?

Another example, The dementors. (all examples from harry potter, i know!) Remember how we all complained they looked like people with their heads just covered in face towels. lol
Anyway, the book, (refers to catalog. click on link to view more. Credits to Brenda who showed it to me)
References to Edward's Beauty: 165
Bella Is Clumsy or Makes a Reference to Her Clumsiness: 26
(oh they showed this really well, she was clumsy at practically EVERY scene!)
He really wasnt all that beautiful! (wheres my Ryan Phillipe?!) Then again, thats just my opinion. Shereena thought he looked hot. lol I thought... well, too much make up and stuff. I guess it was all just dissappointing. Not just the casting of Edward Cullen, but a lot of the other vampires.

They were supposed to be the most beautiful 'people' around, no? Oh oh and i cant believe they cast, Ava, from Grey's Anatomy as Edwards 'mum'! NUUUOOOHHH!!! weird. weird. weird. weird. weird. Alice was cool though. I thought it would have been better if she had played a bigger role in the movie, as she did in the book. I really liked Alice in the book too. Jasper, er... weird as well.
Okay, i do realise that im just talking about the casting here. But i guess it was all just sorta disappointing. Mike wasnt as cute as i thought he would be, Jacob wasnt anything... the only hot one there was carliste! And i didnt expect him to look THAT young! XD but again, hot!!Oh and i was sorta annoyed at the fact that most girls in the cinema started screaming when the characters first appeared. It was like ... WHAAAAAT!?!?!?!? And then the row of boys sitting behind us started mocking them and shouted along too. lol. Also annoying, but funny in a way XD And at the end, during the dance, they started CLAPPING... for no apparent reason.
Its weird, for i expected the movie to be crappy. And usually when you have such low standards, it'd be easier to be impressed and blah. But i wasnt. Halfway through the movie, i looked at Shereena and asked her what she thought, she said,
'its okay, but nothing much is happening'
Exactly.
No action. No nothing. Just, okay, Edward. Bella. Scene change. Edward, Bella. Scene change. It was very... boring. It was this way in the book too, but i guess its less boring in words than it is on screen.

Says it all. Copy and pasted some of it: -
'The movie isn’t bad. In fact it isn’t much of anything.
Not having read the books, I’m going to assume that their popularity lies in part with Meyer’s writing style and with the psychological depth of the characters. Neither element is evident in this film.'
'That’s the big problem with “Twilight.” It’s blah.'
'Bella and Edward — shallow, one-note characters — make goo-goo eyes at each other for a good 90 minutes before something interesting happens.'
'Technically the film is OK, though Hardwicke spends an awful lot of time on looming close-ups of her young stars’ mugs.'
Yeah okay, you get to read the rest yourself.
Oh and the sparkle thing was foonie xp!
Anyway, whether or not you liked the book, i suggest you click on the catalog link as provided above. Really an eye-opener. Like Bren said,
'it's like reading all these comments kinda just reminded me of things i didn't really like, but never looked into.'
See for yourself, love!
