STUDENT TUTORING!
gasp! Shock! AWE *drool*

I took the bus and arrived at the place a half hour early, because this time i was smart and got off the bus when i was supposed to (hoho, i get better at this shit every time). Made my way to the school, all the kids were having their break time and were SCREAMING, RUNNING and i even saw this one kid fake shooting this other kid and the other kid totally fell dramatically on the floor. It was pretty epic. Walked past the first gate, it was LOCKED. wth.

walked past the OTHER gate... LOCKED.

walked to the playground gate, LOCKED.

Oh gosh! i thought perhaps they didnt want the kids running outside the school compound so they locked the place up or something. So i shrugged and just went back to the bus stop and sat there for 20 minutes IN THE COLD like some pathetic person which i... SORT OF AM I GUESS. SNIFF. but this old lady totally smiled at me and talked to me cause she was lonely at the bus stop =___=" I know, maybe it was all meant to be. The old lady needed me and i was there. Lets just leave it at that.

After the 20 minutes were up, i made my way back to the school and saw this lady totally pushing the locked gate and walking into the school.... WTH?!?!?!? =____=" So the gate wasnt locked after all, it was JUST AN ILLUSION (to me at least TT again, I AM SAD). As i was crossing the play area into the building, Miski (girl from last week) ran up to me and said,

'Hi! What is your name again?'

'Im Li May, you're Miski right?' :)

...........and she hugged me.

Are you awwww-ing?

I know, i totally awww-ed too! (in my head of course)

Told her i'd see her later and went in =D. SHE LIKES ME. SHE LIKES ME. SHE LIKES ME. *dies happy* Went into the classroom and Dre (kid who mentioned cake and did the miley cyrus last week) was standing near the coats. He came up to me and said,

'i liiiiiiiiike cake.'

I heard him, but yet it didnt process. its like i heard him say something but i didnt fully comprehend what he was saying, so i asked

'hmm? what?'

and he goes

'nothing!'

O.O

and then my brain processed the jumble of words he just said and it clicked, RIIIIIGHT. after that i got him outta the class since he was my first kid and he asked about the cake,

'Can i have cake this week?'

'No, i asked and you're not allowed to have cake.'

*sad face*

ZOMMMMGGG. TT and after that he gave me a little trouble cause he wouldnt concentrate. btu other than that he was alright i guess. Oh, before i went for uni that same morning, i went to this shop and bought stickers for the kiddies. Smiley stickers and also monkey stickers, cause they can be either good kids (hence i give them a smile) slash cheeky monkeys (duh). So Dre was being such a cheeky monkey that day i decided to give him the monkey stickers

THEY WERE CUTE OKAY! EVEN SUAN SAID SO!

and he looked at them and was all ...

=.=

DISINTERESTED.

WTH. NOT CHEAP CAN. i was sooooooo sad. but i took out the smiley face stickers and he liked those so that was good then. *phew* was slightly upset by him though, cause you know how i write a sentence and cut it up and then they're supposed to piece the sentence back together? then i put the cut up pieces into an envelope and they bring it home as their plaything or something. Well, Dre admitted to me that he didnt bring his home last week. TT i was like, MEH. CRUSHED. CRUUUUSSSSHHHEEEED. *glass shatters* so i told him

'you have to bring it home this week then, it has smiley stickers on it! =D'

but i dont know if he did =( Next, saw Mahir. Mahir was the kid last week who was shy at first but then got really really cheeky at the end of the session. This week, when he walked in, he was all SMILING TO HIMSELF. LOL damn FUNNY.

'Hi Mahir! Do you remember me from last week?'

*SMILES MORE, like gonna giggle. nodnod*

...... HAHAHAHHA OMG I LOVE THIS KID.

I think Mahir is the only one who actually responses fully to my crap. we totally laugh together like idiots. And when i asked him things about himself, he doesnt really wanna tell me cause he knows i'll write it down on the sentence paper thing and he goes

'NOTHING!!!'

and i'll go, I'LL JUST HAVE TO READ YOUR MIND THEN. *does the whole fingers on side of head and hiro nakamura constipated space time travelling wtv face with sound effect* looooolll we're the same kind, im telling you. i swear i was probably like him as a kid. HAHAHAHAHAHA after that i gave him some monkeys and HE LIKED THE MONKEYS =D

and then totally break it again =____=" asked him if he took the sentence back (NOW I ASK CAUSE i was totally upset that dre didnt) and he said he did, but he didnt play with it. =____=" Ouch.

sad sial.

Miski was next, and shes such a good girl really =D. SHE BROUGHT MY SENTENCE HOME AND ACTUALLY PLAYED WITH IT =D she even remembered what the sentence was about. OMG I LOVE HER. reads really REALLY well. =) and she seems like a very smart girl, and very curious about things. superly awesome.

Then met Tommy who was shy last week... well he started off the session really shy as well. When i say something stupid or make some stupid SOUND EFFECTS *cause thats the way i roll, yo* he just stares at me and gives me this blank look of wonder. BUT ITS OKAY, I KNOW HE TALKS ABOUT ME, I KNOW HE LIKES ME, so i just keep doing the shit that i do. hahaha he opened up to me later on when i asked about his family though =) information which i shant reveal here. and after that he was all smiley and didnt give me anymore blank looks. I think this is the start of something beautiful *tears* lol and now hes more active, so thats awesome. i feel like im getting through to him!!

After him was a new boy. Did not meet him last week. Dre's best friend, also had trouble concentrating, but he was generally okay. Mumbled a lot so i had trouble catching what he was saying to me. half the time i just nodded and pretended i could hear him (this reminds me of high school where brother john was teaching in front and whenever he looked at me i just smiled and nodded and pretended i was listening wth LOL) and the other half he had to repeat to me AGAIN AND AGAIN because i COULDN'T HEAR HIM and he was obviously telling me something and needed response. lol

but overall, it was a pretty good day =D I mean, still bummed that the first two kids didnt play with the sentence but at least the other two did. Well Tommy said he did but im not sure if he did or not. cause when i asked him, he was still in blank face mode and just nodded, so i dont know if he REALLY did it or if he just thought it was the right answer and nodded. XD Was slightly disappointed that the kids didnt take to the stickers as much as i would have liked them to, or perhaps they were really EXCITED INSIDE BUT DIDNT WANNA SHOW IT? (=.=) but they were all pretty greedy and wanted MORE MORE MORE save for Miski and Tommy cause they're both the good non-cheeky ones. hahaha

So i got onto the bus. =D Got a seat. and guess what? just my luck, for some odd reason, that bus didnt announce what stops it was going to make. So you had to look out for the stop yourself and KNOW where to get off. I panicked a little, but thought, NAH i'll know when i see the place. i'll recognize it. So I sat there.... 10 minutes.... 20 minutes.... (okay we're supposed to pass this market, i remember there was a market)... 30 minutes....passed the market..... around 45 minutes later, these two guys came down from the top level of the bus. One guy turned to me before he got down, cause i was sitting so comfortably in my seat and went,

'This is the last stop.'

'Whaaaa? REALLY!?!?'

'Yeah.'

So i went to the bus driver and went,

'Hi, have we passed fairbridge road?'

'oh dear! yes, that was far away!'

'How far away is it?'

(cause i was already LATE. was supposed to be there at 1pm and it was at the time, 1pm)

She said it was around 5 mins by bus and told me to cross over to the other side of the road to take the next bus back. TT so i did, by that time, it was already around 1.20pm. Got onto the next bus and asked the bus driver if he stopped at fairbridge road, he went

'Yes, do you know where it is?'

'no'

'okay, you just sit right in the front here and i will tell you where to get off.'

i see rainbows and unicorns and marshmallows.

So i got to my stop, and somehow EVERYTHING LOOKED UNFAMILIAR. =_____=" stupid ass memory. I asked the construction workers nearby if they knew where the school was - they didnt. Grrrreaaat. So i used my amazing (hoho) sense of direction and just ... tried to stumble into the right lane by chance.

AND I DID

Cause im awesome like that.

by that time it was around 1.30pm, walked in feeling all stupid and guilty cause i was LATE ON MY FIRST DAY (ZOMMMMGGGG HORRIBLE), was all kelam-kabut kept forgetting to SIGN IN, took out my pencil box, put it back in, lady at the counter was like 'have you signed in?' =__=" take out pencil box again, then put it back in, girl from UCL came and she asked, 'have you signed in?' =__=" take out pencil box YET AGAIN, and guess what?

I think i still forgot to sign in.

wtf.

but i wasnt late in the end, UCL girl told me we're supposed to be there by 1.30pm HOHO guess who was RIGHT ON TIME? *jumps jumps*

Again, i am teh awesome.

two lil kiddies brought me up to the classroom. went in, teacher was all,

'Hi there, what are you here for?'

'Im here on the student tutoring program'

'Ah Good, and what is your name?'

'Can everybody say HI LI MAY?'

'HI LI MAY'

....

*big smile*

Then this kid right in front of me went 'ME FIRST ME FIRST!' and the teacher wrote down a coupla (6) names on a piece of sticky note and told me these were the kids i had to see. Was really surprised because i remember during the briefing the headmaster said we were supposed to see only 3 students at a time. But i was like *shrug*. the more the better?

So the first boy went to take his book and the teacher was going to start reading a story to the class. he looked up at me, 'can we stay and listen to the story before we leave?'

'Do you think we have time to do that?'

then he was all,

'okay never mind. lets go'

loooool. 7 year old boy. Was really unsure on how to do it but the children were all very cooperative and receptive and good. First boy was so mischievous. I was helping him with his reading, but at one point, he suddenly turned to me and was all,

'are you from america?'

'no'

'then where are you from?'

'im from malaysia'

'where is that country?'

*pauses*

'far far away'

'but all the countries are far away'

*pauses*

'yeah. okay now lets go back to the book, can you read this line again? The...'

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

and then he got distracted at ANOTHER point,

'why are your eyes like... (and he does the miley cyrus)'

'do you mean small?'

'small?'

'no, like...'

'like?'

'like CHINESE!!'

....

'thats because i am chinese.'

'ARE YOU FROM CHINA?'

'no, im from malaysia, but there are chinese people in my country too.'

*confused look*

*makes him go back to reading the book*

Like chinese, damn nice. loooooolll damn shit ass funny weih. before we ended the session, i needed to write something on a piece of paper for him, so i took out my pencil box from my bag. and DUMDUMDUM he saw my tupperware containing cupcakes that i packed for my journey. shiiiiit.

'What is that?'

*shuts bag*

'food.'

'are those cakes?'

'its for my journey home, in case i get hungry =)'

'i like cake.'

'mmhmm okay'

'can i have cake?'

'are you allowed to have cake?'

'maybe next time, i'll ask your teacher first.'

'next time.'

'yes, if your teacher allows'

Next kid was shy at first, and was really concentrating on his reading. Lol, but after awhile he warmed up to me (cause i poked fun at him hoho) and then after that he became cheeky. Cheeky monkey. Had to write this sentence for him, then tear it up and see if they can put it back together. So, i asked him about his holidays and about what he likes to eat, so that it could be placed in the sentence. He knew i was going to do that, so when i asked

'what do you like to eat?'

'noooooothing'

'oh c'mon, im sure you like to eat something. Pizza?'

'no.'

'Hamburgers?'

'okay fine, who is your favourite superhero?'

'i dont have any'

'SUPERMAN? SPIDERMAN?'

'noooo *giggles*'

'but you're wearing red. I KNOW YOU LIKE SUPERMAN'

'IM WEARING BLUE TOO!! *points to pants*'

'fine. OOOOH I KNOW WHAT YOU LIKE BEST'

*writes on paper as he looks on'

[M (his name) likes to read about cackling hens and bouncing eggs.]

cause he couldnt pronounce cackling and i had to help him a gazillion times, it was funny. and he was all NO NO! and trying to cover the paper so i couldnt write anymore. loooooollll =)

The next boy was a little quiet. Tried to get him to talk more and let his cheeky side come out or something, but it didnt happen. However, while i was walking back to the bus stop, i walked in the wrong direction and had to head back. While i was heading back, i saw him walk out with his mom, he was just looking at me like he was unsure what to do, so i smiled and i waved (just smile and wave, boys), and he pointed at me and said

'THATS THE GIRL I WAS TALKING ABOUT!! =D'

.... AAAAWWWWWW

*turns to mush*

Met another girl as well, she read really really well. And she was really good, like, good girl. not cheeky or anything, but quite inquisitive. so that was okay i guess, but it was a lil... awkward, not smooth like with the others. perhaps it'll get better. =) She was asking me if it would be the same every week, if i would go see them and stuff. x) SHE LIKES ME. HOHO. x)

Didnt manage to see the other two kids as i spent too much time with the first 4. SORRY OTHER 2. half an hour for each, total of 2 hours spent there. GREAT two hours. =) then went back to lse for an hours class before i headed back.

GREEEAAATT DAY.

I love love LOVE kids =D

I cant wait for next week now!!
